Opening soon
So here’s the latest. Ding How will reopen on November 16, 2009. The previous date of November 7th was either completely my imagination or has been pushed back. Since November 16th isn’t a Saturday we won’t be there on opening day, but we plan to be there on Saturday the 21st.
More bad news: it’s not the fabled “real” Chinese restaurant either. They’re now calling themselves “Ding How Asian Bistro”, and according to their voice mailbox recording they’ll serve Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Korean food. So basically another Pan Asia asian-fusion type of joint, or will they serve authentic asian cuisine? I’m withholding judgment for now, but I’ll admit I’m less hopeful than before. We’ll see. We’re still going for the dim sum, so here’s hoping at least the dim sum is great. I think the lack-of-buffet rumor will turn out to be true though, so there’s definitely that.
Again I’m being a total downer for nothing. Still psyched about dim sum, and will definitely be keeping an eye on the rest of the menu to see if we want to try some of their other stuff soon as well. Come on, the 21st! Two weeks away is way too long to wait.
Brian: I heard Chinese President Hu Jintao ate at Ding How.
Jason: Who?
Brian: Yes.
Jason: How did he like it?
Brian: Yes.
Jason: So he did like it?
Brian: Hu? And how!
Jason: That’s what I’m asking you!
Why does this riff on “Who’s on First” sound like it could have happened in real life? With Jason involved, anything is possible.
We’re getting up a gang to go up there on Saturday. Meet us there at 11 if you can. We’ll save you a seat or two if you know you will make it.
