Lovely ladies
“Penelo-phernalia”… oh man, I’m so clever. So yeah, now that I’m mostly back from the land of the walking dead here are a few more pics. If our family weren’t so nice they’d already have the pitchforks out. 5 days without a single pic of baby Penelope–a travesty.

Spellbound
There’s that crazy pink bow. They put them on all newborn baby girls–nice touch I suppose, if you’re into that.

Tiny dancer
They also do these footprints of newborns’ tiny feet. With no reference in the picture it’s hard to tell visually, but yeah they’re small.

Helping hand
Sofia is obsessed with touching Penelope right now. I think it’s a good sign that she’s interested and will be a good sister.

Magic trick
Of course Sofia being Sofia, in the midst of everything she still managed to entertain herself and us with her magic trick–pressing an empty water bottle to her stomach and letting go. I got a few shots of her laughing hysterically to herself when she first figured out how to do this trick, but the focus was off so I used this one instead. I blame the camera. Oh 5D series, when will you get better autofocus?!

Poke, poke
Penelope was in a newborn “bed”/cart in the hospital, and Sofia tapped the side a few times as if messing with fish in an aquarium.

Peaceful
Penelope asleep right before we took her out of the car as we arrived home. We hope to see her in this state a lot and on a regular schedule very soon.
Yay! I guess that answers the question whether or not you guys are home yet. Hope she sleeps a lot!
Keep on praying for it then, ’cause right now she’s doing her own thing as far as sleeping. A consistent sleep schedule can’t come soon enough!
so beautiful and a good sleeper already! Awesome!
As of today she is using the blanket you made for her.
My fiance just introduced me to your blog, and I have to say a few things:
1) Your kids are adorable — I have a soft spot for hapas because I am one myself (half Chinese, half European).
2) Your photos are beautiful.
3) I am glad to know a fellow Asian in Mississippi! I moved from the San Francisco Bay Area last year to be with said fiance and sometimes feel like a stranger myself. Hope you’re enjoying life here.
Melia,
Thanks so much for the kind comments. We think our kids are adorable too, but we’re sort of biased! Nice to “meet” you. I bet it’s quite the switch being an asian in the Bay Area versus Mississippi. I’m a homebody, which could be skewing my views on this, but it seems to me that the asian community in Mississippi is quite small, at least in Central MS. Just means those of us here have to try harder
Congrats for your second daughter, Denise and Yohan! She is absolutely adorable and Sofia’s so sweet with her baby sister – Love it!
We’ll be waiting for more pictures to come
Thanks for the comments, y’all! More pictures will go up when Penelope starts doing something interesting
wait, sleeping and eating and pooping and being adorable aren’t interesting? What is Twitter FOR?
Yes, I can see the Twitter feed now:
9:20 p.m.: Penelope is so cute when she’s sleeping.
10:14 p.m.: Still sleeping–so cute!
10:53 p.m.: Yep, still sleeping, and still cute!
There’s a reason I’m not on Twitter
Beautiful family. I’m so happy for you.
Thanks, Jaimee!
